System Requirements

Optimal System Requirements

To ensure the highest level of security and optimal performance of PC Matic, the following system requirements are recommended:

Operating Systems:

  • Endpoints: Windows 10 (version 1703 and later) to Windows 11.
  • Servers: Windows Server 2019 to Windows Server 2022; Linux (distros that are not End-of-Life)
  • Mac: macOS Monterey, Big Sur, Catalina.

Hardware Specifications:

  • Processor: Minimum 1 GHz or faster.
  • Memory (RAM): 8 GB or higher.
  • Hard Disk: At least 50 GB of free space.

Additional Requirements:

  • A high-speed internet connection.
  • .NET Framework 3.5 (available for download here).

Windows 10+ and Windows Server 2019+ include the Early Launch Anti-Malware (ELAM) Driver, allowing SuperShield to operate as a protected process, preventing unauthorized alterations.

Minimum System Requirements

For basic operation of PC Matic MSP, the following minimum system requirements should be met:

Operating Systems:

Endpoints: Windows 7 to Windows 8.

Servers: Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows Server 2016.

Mac OS: Mojave, High Sierra, Sierra.

Hardware Specifications:

Processor: 1 GHz or faster.

Memory (RAM): 2 GB.

Hard Disk: 5 GB of free space.

Additional Requirements:

  • An active internet connection.
  • .NET Framework 3.5 (available for download here).

Sleep Settings

  • Network Connectivity Loss: When a device enters sleep mode, it can lose network connectivity, affecting immediate actions from the management console (e.g., scans, Command Prompt access, reboots, VNC control).
  • Scheduled Scans: Devices in sleep mode will wake for scheduled scans but won't display real-time scan progress in the management console.
  • Recommended Setting: Adjust the power plan to allow the display to sleep while keeping the computer awake, ensuring continuous access for management actions.

Adhering to these optimal and minimum system requirements ensures that PC Matic runs effectively, providing robust security and efficient management capabilities. Regularly reviewing and maintaining these settings is key to maximizing the utility and performance of PC Matic in diverse IT environments.
