The PC Matic ad blocker runs inside the Chrome, Firefox, and Edge browsers. It is very simple to install and can provide a much better browsing experience free from ads and clutter. If a website you’re trying to browse to is not working properly while it is active or requires that you disable the ad blocker, follow the steps below.
Full Website Blocked
If you receive a message that looks like the one below, you may need to temporarily or permanently allow the website to load. Some advertising, cash-back, and promotional links can be blocked due to the strictness of the rules.
Use caution when deciding to allow the website. The PC Matic ad blocker is intended to block potentially malicious web content, so be certain that the link you visited is trustworthy.
- To allow the webpage temporarily, click on the Temporarily button.
- To allow the webpage permanently, click on the Permanently button.
Parts of a Website Blocked
While on the page that you want to allow through the ad blocker, look to the upper right-hand corner and find the green PC Matic shield.
Click the shield icon and then click the blue power icon to disable the PC Matic ad blocker on that page.
- After you click the blue power icon, refresh the page using the refresh button that appears, pressing the F5 key, or by clicking the refresh button in your browser.
That’s it! The PC Matic ad blocker will no longer run when you visit that website in the future (indicated by a red shield icon for this page). If you ever want to enable it on that site again, just follow steps 1-3 again.
