Uninstalling PC Matic
IN THIS ARTICLE
PC Matic cannot be uninstalled from the control panel on the device. We have restricted this capability to prevent unauthorized users and cyber criminals from exploiting remote access through RDP and third-party remote access programs. However, there are three alternative methods through which you can uninstall PC Matic MSP from a device. It's worth noting that the uninstallation process does not necessitate a device reboot, and it seamlessly removes all components in the background without any user intervention.
Online Devices
If the device is currently online and has a connection to your management console, you have the option to uninstall a single device or utilize the bulk uninstall feature. This process does not necessitate a system reboot and will uninstall the device without any user intervention.
Uninstall a Single Device
- Navigate to the Devices page
- Click the “more” menu icon in the Actions column
- Select Remove Device
- Confirm the uninstall
Bulk Uninstall
- Navigate to the Devices page
- Select the device(s) on the left with a checkmark
- Select Remove Device from the Bulk Actions menu
- Confirm the uninstall
Device Manager Uninstall
If the devices were installed using the Device Manager through Active Directory:
- Navigate to Account Settings > Network Devices
- Click the red trash can icon under Actions to uninstall a single device, or select multiple devices then click the red trash can icon at the top to bulk uninstall.
- Confirm the uninstall.
Offline Devices
With the previous methods, any devices that are offline will provide you with the option to queue them up for an uninstallation, which will be executed automatically once they regain connection, or to delete them without performing an uninstallation.
Endpoint Uninstaller
If the device won’t connect to the PC Matic MSP console, or has been removed from the network:
- From Add a Device > Install/Uninstall > Endpoint Uninstaller download the uninstaller .zip folder to the computer you wish to uninstall on.
- Right click and extract the .zip folder that you downloaded.
- Inside the folder you will find an uninstaller executable and a batch (.bat) file that contains unique details for your account.
- Right-click the .bat file and select Run as Administrator.
- The uninstall is now complete.
