Allowlisting
With PC Matic, you have complete control over the local allow and block lists for various components of the program. This enables you to promptly address any false positives from your management portal, ensuring uninterrupted business operations. This feature is particularly valuable when dealing with your own proprietary software that PC Matic or SuperShield may not yet identify. In this section, we will discuss the different methods available to add items to the PC Matic allowlist, as well as the various components that can benefit from a local allowlist.
Security Notifications
The quickest way to allowlist a file is from the Notifications page on the Security tab. By default, the notifications are arranged with most recent at the top and can be filtered by Type to display files blocked by SuperShield.
To allowlist (or blocklist) a file or script from the Security Notifications page:
- Login to the web portal and navigate to Notifications > Security
- Locate the blocked file in the list of security notifications
- On the right, click the Actions dropdown
- Select a a level to allow the file to run
Process Activity
The Process Activity Report provides a comprehensive overview of both blocked and allowed processes. Within the Processes Blocked report, you can thoroughly examine any process that has been blocked within your environment and subsequently include it in your Custom Allowlist.
To add a file to your Custom Allowlist using the Process Activity Report:
