Enable SuperShield System Tray Menu

To temporarily pause / turn off SuperShield, you will first need to set System Tray Menu to Enabled in the portal for the device(s) where you want to pause SuperShield.

These steps are just recommended to be able to pause / turn off SuperShield while you need to install  a piece of software, it is best practice to then set the System Tray Menu back to Disabled so the service cannot be turned off by any user.

Enable System Tray Menu

  1. Log into the web portal.
  2. Select the device you need to temporarily disable / turn off SuperShield.
  3. Select "SuperShield Options" in the Device Options menu.
  4. Change the System Tray Menu to Enabled (Advanced).
  5. Save the changes.

Once you make this change in the portal, the endpoint(s) will then have the SuperShield icon disappear from the system tray and re-appear in the tray.

If the shield does not re-appear within a minute, you can then go to the C:\Program Files (x86)\PCPitstop\Super Shield folder run the file PCMaticRT.exe to launch the system tray icon.

Enabling the System Tray Menu will add options to set the Protection level to:

  • Off Until Reboot
  • Pause for 10 Minutes
  • Pause for 1 Hour
