How to add RMM and RATs To Your Custom Allowlist

Below are four simple ways to add your remote tool to your Custom Allowlist.

Prompt for Override

This method can be used only if you have SuperShield controls enabled for your endpoints. Click on the SuperShield icon in the system tray and a menu will appear. Next click on Protection Level > Block Notification Method > Prompt for Override (advanced)

With Prompt for Override enabled on your device, when you try to run the remote tool, you will get a popup. Simply click on the Always Allow and the remote tool application will be added to your Custom Allowlist, but only for this device.

You can login to the PC Matic Portal (portal) and navigate to Account Settings->Custom Allowlist in the left hand panel to see the remote tool added to your Custom Allowlist. You can change the level to company from here.

Security Notifications

If the Prompt for Override is not set on a device or if the user chooses to block the remote tool, another way to add the remote tool to your Custom Allowlist is to login to the PC Matic Portal. In the left hand panel, navigate to Notifications->Security. A popup will appear with the digital signature selected. Click the Confirm button and the remote tool’s certificate will be added to the Custom Allowlist.

Search for your blocked remote tool, click the Actions drop-down, and select the desired allowlist level.

A popup will appear with the digital signature selected. Click the Confirm button and the remote tool’s certificate will be added to the Custom Allowlist.

Process Activity Report

Another simple way to add the remote tool to any level is via the Process Activity Report located in the PC Matic Portal. Login to your account and click on the Process Activity Report in the left hand navigation panel. Find the remote tool and click on the green plus sign to the left of the vendor name. Then, click the Allow/Block tab, select Digital Signature in the Type drop-down, select the desired level in the Level drop-down, and then click the Allow Signature button.

This will add the signature to your Custom Allowlist, as seen below.

Manual Entry

Lastly, you can manually add the certificate to your Custom Allowlist. In the left hand panel, navigate to Account Settings->Custom Allowlist. Click the Add Certificate button.

From here, if you know the certificate’s thumbprint, you can add it here as well as a brief description. Select your level and Windows as the platform. Then click the floppy disk icon to save the certificate to your Custom Allowlist.
